I’m Dr. Catherine Schmidt!

Licensed Psychologist. Fellow IVF mom. & Women’s Mental Health Expert

I work Specifically with women to help them build fulfilling lives.

My expertise has been featured in various publications and on podcasts including Happiness in Progress, Modern Motherhood, Connecting and Finding Meaning, and I have served as a board member for the San Francisco Psychological Association and acted as the Early Career Professional Chair.

My Values

  • Compassion & Understanding
I believe therapy is first and foremost a relationship. My clients know they can show up exactly as they are—whether they’re grieving, anxious, or simply needing a place to breathe.

  • Clarity & Coping
I value giving women not just emotional space, but practical, evidence-based coping tools they can use in the middle of doctor’s appointments, uncertainty, two-week waits, and the daily stresses of life.

  • Respect for Your Story
Every journey is different. I honor your unique path and create a therapeutic space where your experience is taken seriously, with no minimizing, no clichés, and no judgment.

My Goals

  • To help women navigating infertility feel less alone and more grounded as they move through treatment, uncertainty, and hope.

  • To support high-functioning women whose perfectionism and drive feel shaken in this season—helping them reconnect with a steadier sense of self.

  • To provide a safe, relational, and even lighthearted space where humor, humanity, and connection are as much a part of healing as coping skills and strategies. (Yes, we will talk about heavy topics but we can also talk about Love Island).

Outside the office you can find me planning adventures, creating pottery, baking or cuddled up on the couch with my husband, children, and wild labradoodle, Richard.
